Children ages 5 and up are invited to join Jessica Santos for two fun sessions of yoga. Children should wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat or towel to the classes. Please register.

All ages and abilities are encouraged to attend this intergenerational program. Knitting is a hobby and a creative, stress reducing activity that can be done alone or with others. Bugs Alive!
Learn about the fascinating world of bugs during this close encounter with insects, spiders and creepy crawlies. Adam Harris will introduce you to creatures from the
far corners of the world; creatures you would never have otherwise met. Think hairy tarantulas, huge, hissing cockroaches and stealthy scorpions. Children ages 5 and up are encouraged to register.

Moving Stories, A Pop-up Book Workshop
Learn the basic skills of pop-up engineering by making a series of models. Choose your favorite designs and put them together into a simple book structure, then create a story line. Design a cover and decorate your book using art materials. Please register.

Puppeteer Deborah Costine uses hand puppets to tell the story of Cinderella the Woodland Fairy Princess. This variation of the traditional tale is the story of the stepsister who is sure that having the most "stuff" is what makes her best. It all takes place in a papier mache tree hand built by Deborah.

The Bugs of Our Backyards
In this show Jerry Schneider explores the wonderful world of backyard and woodland bugs. Find out more about the life cycles of cicadas, milkweed beetles, katydids and moths, to name just a few backyard bugs. As always, Jerry includes a T-shirt painting segment with the program. Please bring a clean white T-shirt. Be sure to register if you are age 7 or older.

Teen Event
(Programs for young people ages 11-14)
Ships in Bottles with William Sheridan
During this 2-hour workshop, participants will learn how a ship in a bottle is created. After practicing on a demonstration model, they will complete the final assembly of a "single model" as a group and the model will be donated to the Childdren's Room of the library. Anyone with a model in process is invited to bring it to the workshop. Program limited to 6 participants.

The Frog Prince
Pumpernickel Puppets
presents shows with a cast of colorful puppet characters, audience participation, live voices and sound effects. A demonstration period follows every performance, giving the audience some insight into what happens behind the scenes. John McDonough presents the enchanting tale of The Frog Prince for children ages 5 and older. Please register.

2008 Summer Reading Finale with Just Paul
All participants of the Catch the Reading Bug summer reading program are invited to celebrate! Come to witness our finale guest, Just Paul, who will perform his Flow Circus show. Paul Miller, alias "Just Paul", will incorporate juggling, magic, physical comedy and improvisation into this highly interactive vaudeville style evening. Paul is hilarious!
